(Also, Sonic knew that Mokou and Old One wouldnt want Sonic to commit Suicide, so he pretended and acted to shoot himself, with blanks. He planned ahead. Beacuase he isnt as suicidal as Kliner)

(That's somewhat the reason. He still wanted to help Mokou out, since he could kinda relate to the loneliness. But most of it was that he wanted to get back to Eirin safely and as soon as possible.)
